News flash. Highway closed between Revelstoke and Sicamous. New SI 600 route is last year's Valemount route starting and ending in Raleigh.
Although it's a good route, two years in a row is too often. It's a long boring slog by yourself, especially when the clouds are too low to see the mountains. Traffic was heavier than usual, probably due to Hwy #1 closure.
A few highlights: Two black bears, and 6 deer including a doe with two very tiny spotted fawns. Seven hours sleep in Blue River. I think it's the first 600 I've ever ridden entirely in daylight. Met a friend of Peter Stary in Valemount. She didn't tell me her name- not that I would have remembered.
