An incredibly scenic and challenging ride through the Selkirk mountains of central BC.  This route starts with a gradual climb up the Kaslo river before plunging (plummeting?) down to New Denver and on through the incredible Slocan Valley.  Enjoy views of the craggy Valhalla Range while riding along the shores of Slocan Lake and then the Slocan River.  After turning out of the Slocan Valley, you ride along the Kootenay River.  A late spring and exceptional snowpack means that the river is absolutely raging now.  It's a sight to behold. Later on, ride through historic Nelson and then along the shores of Kootenay Lake with the magnificent Purcell Mountains across the lake.

Pub finish at JB's in Woodbury (covered outdoor patio).   Shuttle service can be arranged to get riders back to Kaslo.  Or you can get back on your bike and ride another 16 kms with about ~250 meters more climbing.

The weather forecast currently looks good.  The weather on the day of the pre-ride was bluebird perfect.

RWGPS altitude gain for this ride is incorrect, as usual. Actual altitude gain is 2300m.
