This year’s summer 300 will follow a modified version of the Parks &Rivers 300 which was used for the Centenary 300. Instead of starting in Parksville, the ride will begin in Courtenay at the Royal LePage Realty, #121 – 750 Comox Road. (Free parking on the Royal LePage parking lot.) The start is staffed and we will have coffee for you.
One of the reasons we decided to start the ride in Courtenay rather than Parksville, is that hotels and motels offer better value for the fiscally discriminating Randonneur. Prices down south are literally eye watering.
The ride will offer the stunning scenery and wild life viewing that makes Vancouver Island an international tourist destination. For example, if you are fortunate you may see the Otter family in the bay by the Little River Control. There are also some manicured gravel trails, and historic bridges to help you fully immerse yourself in the splendour of nature.
