This brevet starts October 11 @7:00 am
Notes from the pre-ride..
I rode the course on the weekend and updated the GPX. It starts/finishes at Starbucks, which will be open.
-The bike route is closed at 20.0 km, Kingsway @ Mary Hill Bypass (Hwy 7B) and was under repairs. This short detour was signed well and easy to ride, but may be complete by brevet day.
-The Golden Ears Bridge, 34.6 km, is also having repairs performed on both sidewalks. They have promised to keep a least one side open for commuters. Therefore you will likely need to adjust for at least one direction.
-At 39.6 km off 102B your instincts will take you left to Derby Reach, but the course turns RIGHT (South) on 208th. Allard Crescent is saved for the return trip.
-Gloucester Way, 60.5 km, has new Rumble Strips/Speed Bumps. They are plentiful, but have a small clear space in the middle (for bicycles?). The only snag is you have to ride down the middle of the lane to use them. These bumps carry on to 272nd St for a short time.
