Challenging but beautuful. I pre rode the route on June 6I ran into some pretty challenging weather- some heavy rain, several hailstorms and an in inch of wet hail slush in Merritt. Hopefully the day of the ride will be drier. I also enjoyed a strong tailwind from Merritt to the finish. The 12 km gravel portion of Campbell Creek Rd. was in great shape and when looking at my Strava fterwards I was surprised to see I had averaged over 30 kph on the gravel!
There are no services of any kind between the Copperhead drive Petro Can/ A&W (KM 65.7) and LoganLake (KM 116.9), and it is mostly uphill. Make sure you stock up and fill your bottles! Logan Lake has a couple of restaurants and two gas stations. There is also water available at the sani dump at the bottom of the hill as you leave town.
No services available between Quilchena General Store (KM 188) and the Happy Valley Store (KM 262).
Please note that the ride finishes at the Ska-Hish (Neskanlith) Canco Station. After you finish you will have to ride just over 7 km to return to your vehicle. The Canco, and tge Petro Can and A & W in Chase all close at 10 pm, everything else closes earlier. If you expect to finish after 10 leave some food and water in your vehicle for after the ride.
