The start time for the Sunshine Coast 200 will be dependent upon the arrival of the 7:30 ferry from Horseshoe Bay, I’m anticipating some time between 8:15 and 8:30.  We will depart from the passenger drop off/pick up area opposite the bus stop(about 100 meters after exiting the ferry).

For those of you who haven't ridden on the Sunshine Coast, it is hilly(about 3300 meters in total)! That being said, there aren't any big climbs, and if it is steep, it's short.  It is just that there isn't much that is flat. The ride ends at The 101 Brewhouse in Gibsons. From there it’s about 6k or so back down to the ferry.  The kitchen closes at 9pm. Something to keep in mind is that the last ferry leaves for Horseshoe Bay at 8:55p.m., so if you think you are going to take much longer than 12 hours to do the route, you may want to look into booking a room.

Parking for this event will require some forethought. 24 hour parking is available at the ferry for $20 last I checked. There are a couple of other pay options (check google). If you feel comfortable parking your car in a pullout on the side of Horseshoe Bay Drive, take exit 2, then head toward Squamish and the pull out is just around the corner on the water side. There is room for probably 10 cars and people regularly do it (definitely at your own risk). From there it is about a km or 2 to the Horseshoe Bay ferry.

Someone will be at the ferry terminal to meet you at the start and there will be a staffed control at my house(117.2 km) and quite possibly a second staffed control.

Details will be finalised after the pre-ride so check back.  Hope to see you all at the start!

Update April 1

The pre-ride has been completed and the routesheet and rwgps are now final. Dave King will be on the first ferry and will see you off at the short term parking(drop-off) in Langdale. There will be 2 staffed controls, one at Connor Park and the other at my place @117 km or so.
