May 24 Update:  The route is final. We did not do a full pre-ride so be mindful of minor errors.

The Tsawwassen-Tsawwassen-Tsawwassen route, originally scheduled for May 28, has been moved to the August 20 slot; the Big Loop 600 will not be run.

The Desperation 600 features a morning ride to Porteau Cove, which will be a staffed control.  It returns through North Vancouver, crosses the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Crossing, and slips through north Burnaby in what we hope is a lightly trafficked way.  We then run up the Barnet and Lougheed Highways to Hope, with some side trips to distract from the highway. After returning through Chilliwack, the route features a spin up to the highlands south of Cultus Lake, and a tour of Langley, White Rock, and Richmond.  The route has just 5000 m of elevation, but that still includes a few challenging rolling sections.

There are numerous motels on or just off the route in Hope or Chilliwack. The Vedder River Inn in Chilliwack (km 349, just north of the turn off Thomas Rd onto Vedder Road) is recommeded. Book ASAP!
