The Interior Spring 600 this year travels south to roads forbidden to us for the last three years. A quick run along the Okanagan River Valley brings us to Omak where we head out on the incredible Columbia River Rd. If there was ever a road made for cycling this is it. This brings us to the Grand Coulee Dam. Once the worlds largest concrete structure (until the Chinese built an even bigger dam) this is a truly remarkable sight. Then we turn back to the west toward Bridgeport where the fast riders can see the Chief Joseph Dam. This thing is less well known than Grand Coulee but no less remarkable. It is bigger and has more water flowing over it than Niagara Falls.

There are two options for those wishing to sleep. The Apple AvenueMotel in Brewster (509-689-3000) at km 362 has some rooms with queen beds available. No rooms left with two bedswhen I called. At km 404 in Okanagon there is a Quality Inn (509-422-6431)

This will be a very nice and not overly difficult 600. This is June in the Interior so it could be pretty warm. It is unlikely that there will be a pre-ride so be prepared for an adventure style ride in the nature of our 1000km rides.
