2026 edition of the classic Ryder Hatzic Hill 300

Pre-Ride notes:

The 2026 route has been revamped slightly with a more direct route to Fort Langley. The return is back via the Golden Ears Bikeway and across the Port Mann Bridge. This eliminates the construction mess of the Mary Hill Bypass. From there there is a shortish section on the Lougheed to get around the Braid blockage on the Central Valley Greenway. A small gravel section along Burnaby Lake was added before rejoining the CVG.

Cautions and notable detours:

There are a few *very* steep and winding descents on this route: Stave Lake Road, Sumas Mountain Road, Extrom / Thorton Road from Ryder Lake, Graham Cres/Lefeuvre Road coming into Fort Langley. Please exercise caution, there is a chance of gravel or poor road conditions on all of these.

Bad Railroad Tracks:

69.4km Parallel track at Stave Lake Dam, Stay right, do not cross over track!

245.4km River Road into Fort Langley. Diagonal tracks, wait for traffic, cross perpendicular to tracks. Stop if necessary and not safe to take lane.

Construction:

Mt Lehman Rd at the start near the highway cross over has construction in the curb lane/ bike lane. Exercise caution, it's short and the road returns to normal shortly afterward.

Central Valley Greenway access from Sperling Ave. Route diverts to Kensington Urban trail on the Westside of Kensington because of the construction at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex. There is some further construction on the CVG along the route but is generally self explanatory.

Once leaving Coquitlam there are no services until the gas station at 106km at Sylvester & Hwy 7 other than the Iron Mountain Store at 63km on Dewdney Trunk Rd.
