- Conditions: A cold and rainy start gave way to sunshine and strong westerlies by the first control at Whytecliff Park. A manned control at Iona featured Paul v W's delicious "Paris Brest" pastry. Cherry blossoms are just starting to feature. A beautiful ride.
Results
The 2022 Early Bird will be based on the Early Bird route from the database. The main change will be that the route will follow west 4’th out to UBC instead of going by Spanish Banks. The road was closed and after getting through cx style including stairs, sand and log hopping, Dave and I decided it would be better to bypass that section.
The roads were mostly in pretty good condition with minimal debris. There will be a staffed control at Iona.there are also public washrooms at all the controls with the exception of PoCo but there are several establishments there that you can avail yourselves of.
The start location is the Caffe Artigiano and the finish is just a couple blocks away at Portland Craft. There is parking around but you may have to search a few blocks off Main St.. We look forward to seeing you all Saturday!
