Construction and Gravel Sections

  • Construction: Several sections of the route have ongoing construction with bike lane closures. Use caution.

  • Gravel Sections: Expect a few kilometers of gravel on the PoCo Trail and other short sections. These are manageable with 25mm tires, provided they’re not ultra-light racing tires.

  • Water: Water fountains are open along the route.

  • Food: Food supplies are readily available from the start until New Westminster. Beyond that, you'll likely need to deviate from the route to resupply. Plan accordingly.

New for the 2025 season, our insurer requires us to ensure everyone riding a brevet carries a first aid kit. It just has to be a minimal pocket-sized kit with a few bandages, wraps, sterile pads, and so on. No kit no ride. https://www.randonneurs.bc.ca/newsletter/submissions_2025/003_mini-medical-kit_mike-hagen.html

Additionally, front and rear lights are required. No lights no ride. https://www.randonneurs.bc.ca/introduction/rules.html
