Vancouver - Port Mann - Fort Langley - Golden Ears - Vancouver

2026/02/23: There has been a minor change in the route at 7.1 km.

The second lower mainland Pre-Season Populaire starts in Burnaby, heads out to Fort Langley over the Port Mann Bridge (bike path) and returns via the Golden Ears (bike path).  This route is an excellent way to learn some of the bike paths through Surrey and enjoy quiet roads in Pitt Meadows. Fingers crossed for good weather!

Parking: There is free street parking available in the neighborhood a couple of blocks north of Hastings.

Following a pre-ride of the route on February 8, we have updated the RideWithGPS track to account for significant construction in Burnaby and New Westminster. City of Burnaby have guaranteed that the bike routes will remain open, however the detours may change slightly.

Of note, the Brunette Fraser Greenway is closed between Hume Park and the Braid SkyTrain Station. We are now detouring at km 15.8 via the Central Valley Greenway (CVG) to Braid Street.
- Braid Street Traffic: Traffic may be heavy. The route leads to the pedestrian signal at Fader and Braid. Feel free to use an alternate route other than Braid Street (west of Brunette Avenue) if you prefer.
- Safety: Please use caution on Braid Street, at the Braid/Brunette intersection, and when crossing multiple railway tracks.
- Side Path: Use the north side path on Braid Street and United Boulevard until King Edward Avenue.

These changes are reflected in the RideWithGPS track. There are no changes to the route after New Westminster.

**New this year**:  download the route sheet/cue sheet from the RwGPS site linked from the map above.  We recommend the Print Cuesheet option from the More menu at the top left.  You may prefer to download the cuesheet.csv file from the Export As File options.  Please let us know how this works for you as we would appreciate the feedback.  Your choice of GPS file can also be downloaded using the appropriate Export As File option.
