NEW 'COVID-19' ON-LINE REGISTRATION PROCESS

Registration is now open for the 'Ryder Hatzic Hills' 300.

The official ACP date for this event is the 25th of July.  However, due to the Covid situation, ACP has allowed our members to ride the event starting on any day within a defined Ride Window, which for this event is:

'Ryder Hatzic Hills' 300 RIDE WINDOW:   Friday 24 July to  Sunday 2 August

Primary start location is at 4th and Boundary, in Vancouver.  An alternate start location is available in Fort Langley.  If you choose the alternate start, you will need to update the route sheet and gps yourself.  Your control card will reflect the new start location.

At this time, we have placed no restrictions on overall event numbers nor on prior experience with randonneur events, however we may later impose such if we need to manage potential congestion.

Check out the start slots available and view who is registered for which start time at Ryder Hatzic Hills 300 Start Time Grid

*** REGISTER HERE ***

You need to submit your registration AT LEAST THREE (3) DAYS prior to your specified start date.

It is not ‘business as usual’, as you will know from having reviewed our new Covid-19 Rules.  Follow the rules.  They support a careful restart to our sport, while protecting communities and respecting measures to slow the spread of Covid-19.

Contact registration@randonneurs.bc.ca if you have any questions.

Pre-Ride Notes from Chris:

Start: classic location at East 4th Ave and Boundary Rd. Note that due to construction I believe there is no longer free parking on the street at this location. The McDonalds on the corner is open.

Controls: as per current protocol all controls are info questions. Bring a pen of course! Most controls are fairly remote with no services or water! It was extremely hot during the Pre-Ride (especially in the Valley) hopefully you will have more moderate temperatures!

Buntzen Lake gate opens at 8am.

Mc Connel Creek Farmers Institute no services or water. Consider stopping at the Iron Mountain Store on Dewney Trunk Rd ~74km Next services at Husky Gas at Sylvester Road and Lougheed Hwy ~117km

Sumas Mtn no services. Stop before or after climb if neccessary.

Ryder Lake Hall No services. Highly recommended to stop and fully fill up with water in Sardis before heading to Ryder Lake.

Fort Langley many stores etc maybe closed at time of passing through. The Fort Pub is open and serving cold beer. The mosqitos on the outdoor patio are voracious. Ask me how I know on both counts! Up the road on Glover the Husky Gas should be open fairly late.

Knight and Day Restaurant finish is closed (permanently? :-( ). Not sure what is open around there other than the McDonalds. There are options east on the Lougheed that you will see as you ride by.

There is a "Super Challenge Ryder Hatzic Hill 300" version of this route available if you want a bigger challenge. All the controls are in the same spots (the control card is the same) but the routing goes up the gravel road to Sumas Mountain (reaching 18% on gravel) plus the steeper road up to the Ryder Lake Hall (15% in spots). The Ryder Hatzic Hill 300 is already a challenging 300K, if you are considering the Challenge Version please contact the organizer in advance for approval and for the revised route and GPS track. At least 32mm tires and low gearing are recommended for this version.

This is the Ride with GPS route of the "challenge version":
