FINAL DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS SATURDAY MORNING, ONE MINUTE BEFORE NOON, EVEN IF THE SYSTEM LETS YOU REGISTER LATER, CONTROL CARDS WILL BE PRINTED NOON SATURDAY.

UPDATED September 10. Please read the whole description.

Roy and Manfred prerode the route on Saturday. They report that it is fast, but with areas of high traffic, especially the Lougheed Highway. This is definitely a route for an early Sunday start.

Take advantage of Sunday morning traffic, and get your first 60 km in on good pavement with less than a dozen traffic lights. (Edit: Detouring around Patullo Bridge construction adds a couple of lights. Such is randonneuring. There is a good bike lane on Bridgeview. Good thing Roy and Manfred prerode!)

Some people might have a spot of bother finding the start, so leave extra time for navigation if you haven't been to these stretches of River Road in a few years.

The easiest way to get to the start is on River Road from the general direction of the Patullo Bridge. This avoids a bewildering array of roundabouts getting off one of the highways.

Parking at the start is very limited. Park near Tidewaters Pub, not the start, and ride under Highway 17 to the nearby starting point. Street parking in front of the cedar mill might be your best bet for security. Manfred will be near the pub and mill to guide you.

Control cards will be available at the start, as will a few route sheets. Email me to reserve a route sheet.

The first control at 20 km will be staffed with water. The Matsqui Village control at 103 km will be staffed and serving a hot lunch. I'll be waiting for you at the finish.
