On March 14, sunny but cool to start, warmer but breezy to finish, we checked the route. Overall it is a scenic, relatively flat and enjoyable route.
There were a couple of sections with construction. The first was heading out on Ontario at 33rd, where we took the sidewalk for half a block going out. The second was on 192nd in Surrey at ~96 km, where there are traffic cones and we took the lane for about 2 km without any issue.
The Delta Greenway section has been removed due to concerns of trail damage from the atmospheric river this week. The new routing is on bike routes previously used in brevets so should be good.
There will be two Staffed controls, one in White Rock on the way out, and one in Surrey on the way back.
This is a perfect way to celebrate the arrival of spring. Come on out and smell the cherry blossoms!
